EU AI Act
Regulation (EU) 2024/1689
Classify every AI system you build or use and get the obligations that follow.
High-risk rules from 2 Aug 2026
Prohibited practices in force since 2 Feb 2025; GPAI duties since 2 Aug 2025. A Digital Omnibus delay of the high-risk dates was proposed in 2026 but is not yet law.
What this skill does
Inventories the AI systems you provide or deploy, classifies each one into its risk tier (prohibited, high-risk, limited or minimal, plus GPAI), and hands you the exact obligations, gaps and dated deadlines for your role.
Who it is for: Product, engineering, legal and compliance leads at any company that builds, sells or uses AI systems touching the EU.
The guided flow
- 1Applicability and role check (provider, deployer, importer or distributor; in or out of the EU)
- 2Inventory each AI system and classify its risk tier
- 3Map the obligations that follow each classification
- 4Gap assessment against what you do today
- 5Dated action plan keyed to the phased timeline
What it asks you for
- A plain-language list of the AI systems you build or use
- Your role for each system and whether outputs reach the EU
- Whether any system touches an Annex III high-risk use case
What you get back
- An AI system register with a risk classification for each
- The provider or deployer obligations that apply
- A gap list and a dated action plan

Guidance, not legal advice
This skill helps you get organised and points you at the official sources. It does not replace a qualified adviser. Confirm specifics against the text on EUR-Lex and the European Commission before you act. See the verified fact sheet that ships with the skill for sources.
