Key date

In force since 28 June 2025

Requirements apply to new products and services now. A transition allows pre-2025 service contracts and products in use until 28 June 2030. Micro-enterprise exemption applies to services only.

What this skill does

Checks whether your products and services are caught, assigns your role, walks the accessibility requirements (EN 301 549 and WCAG 2.1 AA), and produces an obligations list, gap assessment and a starter accessibility statement.

Who it is for: Product, design, engineering and compliance teams behind consumer-facing digital products and services in the EU.

The guided flow

  1. 1Applicability check (EU consumers, covered product or service, micro-enterprise test)
  2. 2Assign your role (manufacturer, importer, distributor or service provider)
  3. 3Map the accessibility requirements (EN 301 549 / WCAG 2.1 AA)
  4. 4Role-specific obligations: technical docs and CE, or accessibility statement
  5. 5Gap assessment and dated action plan

What it asks you for

  • Which products and services you offer to EU consumers
  • Your role for each
  • Company size for the service exemption test

What you get back

  • A scope determination and obligations list
  • A WCAG-based gap assessment
  • A fill-in accessibility statement and dated action plan
